President/CEO Biography

Linda Pic.jpg

Linda Hawkins, Recover Hope President/CEO, has known since age 12 that she was born to serve others.  She served as a registered nurse specializing in Cardiology for 30 years 1980-2010 and continues to hold her license, now for 40+ years. Linda graduated from Petersburg General Hospital and Richard Bland College, followed by a journey through the Virginia Commonwealth School of Business, with a final stop as an RN to BSN from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing.

As Linda was physically unable to continue in nursing, she became impassioned with the social injustice of human trafficking. Linda helped support a safe house for domestic violence and human trafficking survivors called the House of Refuge, from 2016 to 2019. Linda's experience with the House of Refuge is a significant part of why Recover Hope exists.

Linda served on the Richmond Justice Initiative Board of Directors 2016-2019.  Having read IJM Founder, Gary Haugen’s book Terrify No More, Linda felt God’s call to do more.  Through Recover Hope, Linda is working to support local law enforcement and venturing into an underserved  population of human trafficking in the Tri-Cities area south of Richmond, Va, and now to the southern border of Virginia..

Linda has a son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Jennifer,  living in Chesterfield County with her 3 grandanimals, Lulu, PJ and Cyllah.
